This simple but effective type of heat exchanger is comprised of a shell containing a number of tubes which isolates both fluids but allows the exchange of heat between the fluids producing very efficient heating or cooling. Shell and tube heat exchangers have been successfully employed for many years within the gas, oil and petro-chemical industries.
Paul and Loughran have the capability and experience to design and manufacture shell and tube heat exchangers in the conventional formats, AEM, BEU, BXU etc. and other more bespoke arrangements.
We can manufacture the heat exchangers in a variety of materials, with the more common being: carbon steel, austenitic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel; and in compliance with most recognised design codes, for example: TEMA, PD5500, EN13455 and ASME VIII Div.1.
Each shell and tube heat exchanger is designed specifically for each individual client’s process requirements. All designs, calculations, drawings and material selection are performed in house by our experienced engineering team.
The thermal design is analysed using an optimised blend of industry leading commercial and in-house software developed over the many years of experience. As such we are able to guarantee that all of our heat exchangers will be designed to provide a reliable, process efficient and cost-effective solution to meet our client’s requirements.
